Final Agenda Posted

Our schedule is now final

For those of you who like to be organized (meaning you don’t like boarding a plane for Mississippi without knowing what you’ll be doing), we now have a final agenda! So… After checking the weather in Columbus, you’ll now know what to pack 😉

The agenda is on the Schedule Tab with links to the other documents (so you can see where the seating, tours, maps, etc., fit into the overall schedule). Additionally, the agenda, graduation seating, squadron/simulator tour groups, and historic tour information can be downloaded in PDF format. They’re the top four links under REUNION INFORMATION in the right half of every screen. To view them, you’ll need Adobe’s Reader software or a PDF-viewable browser.

Activities so far…

This is the report from Bob Lacey, in his words (email), as to what’s happening on the planning side:

  • “There will be a meeting with CAFB on March 21st to discuss the reunion. Attendees will be myself, Mike Lewis, Bill Hodges, and Buck Buchannan. One of the main purposes will be to see if the hotel on base is available and will meet our needs. It will be a lot better if we can stay on base. The base still claims to be interested in helping.
  • Tom Bowman will start handling communication.
  • We will need someone soon to start collecting some monies from everyone to cover pre-reunion cost and act as Treasurer – any volunteer’s?
  • Mike Guyotes’ wife is willing to help develop a web site, but there will be some cost associated with this project. (Update: I’m Mike’s wife Laura and you’re looking at the ‘web site.’ Since we’re going with a free WordPress blog, there will be no cost associated with it.)
  • Preliminary plans call for a arrival on Thursday, base tours and associated base related functions on Friday, Saturday will be reserved for individual/group functions [golf, visits to old haunts, etc.]
  • My thought will be to have a hospitality suite available on Thursday evening for those arriving on Thursday. Friday and Saturday will be more organized evening functions at base facilities hopefully. I personally am not a fan of sit down dinners. I believe we will have more time to visit if we stay with buffets and cocktails for evening functions. HOWEVER, this should be a group decision – so let us know your ideas.
  • We will need at some time to have a brief business meeting, likely on Sat. before the evening festivities to organize for the future. Having the first reunion at Columbus is appropriate, but I’m sure we all would prefer to choose more exotic locations for future reunions.
  • All this said, we/I would like suggestions on this reunion. Please feel free to make suggestions.”
